Time Trials Tonight!
Time Trials begin tonight at 6pm!
Warm up times are as follows (be at the pool 15 minutes before your warm-up time):
8 under swimmers: 5:00 warm-ups begin
9-12 year olds: 5:15 warm-ups begin
13 & over: 5:35 warm-ups begin
5:45 timers, runner, and officials meet in the clubhouse
6:00 meet begins
Volunteers: Please sign in at the front desk next to your name. I will be floating around until 5:45 to get everyone situated (after that I will be a stroke and turn judge).
Concessions will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, and all the snacks, treats, and drinks you need to make it through the evening. We accept Venmo and cash (small bills appreciated).
Swimmer entries are live on Swimtopia. Heat and lane assignments will be available later today after Kelli troubleshoots to avoid an 8 year old swimming against a 17 year old. Swimmers should report to the Clerk of Course at the baby pool before their event. Immediately after their event, they should check in with a coach for feedback.
Coaches are available to swimmers during the meet. Our coaches and junior coaches will have on blue shirts. (Thank you, Jessica Goff for making our coaches' shirts!)
Supporters should bring a chair tonight. Please cheer on all of our swimmers! Encourage your swimmer to cheer on their teammates. Swim meets are notoriously loud. Tonight you will see everything from kids swimming in their first race to our seniors swimming in their last time trials. Let's show Piranhas how much we appreciate their efforts! Although it's tempting to critique our children after a swim, the best thing to say is how much you enjoyed watching them swim and that you're proud of them. Let the coaches coach and then you get to enjoy being your swimmer's number one fan!
End of meet: Please clean up your area and help breakdown the meet. We need your help to do this quickly. Free swim will begin on the lifeguard's whistle once lane lines have been removed.
Questions to tonight? Ask a parent that looks like they know what they're doing. We were all newbies at one time. The swimming community loves to embrace new families!
Go Piranhas!
