We have received preliminary information about City Meet.  Please be sure to read all of the following information. 

The "session" format takes away from the "team" feel of City Meet.  We encourage everyone to stay for the whole meet if possible.  All Windy Point supporters are invited to cheer on our team.  Our swimemrs have worked hard to qualify for this meet, let's show our support!

Date/Time: Saturday, July 30th 

• Session 1 (8 & under)
• Session 2 (9 – 12)
• Session 3 (Relays)
• Session 4 (13-18)
• The specific timeline for the meet will be posted once the meet has been seeded next week. However, for general planning purposes— warm-ups for Session 1 start at 7:30 AM, warm-ups for Session 2 will likely start around mid/late morning, and warm-ups for Sessions 3 and 4 will likely start around lunch/early afternoon.  

Location: Harvest Lake Pool 206 Honeysuckle Lane Yorktown, VA 23693

Entries: Please select your swimmer's events on Swimtopia by this Friday, July 22nd at 10am. Swimmers should talk to Coach Kelli if they are unsure of which events they should swim. (Coaches will build the relays by Friday.)

Fees: $4.00 per swimmer surcharge plus $4.00 per individual event; Please put your swimmer's fees in an envelope labeled with their name and the amount in the "Team Manager" folder by Wednesday, July 27th.

Warm-Up Schedule: TBD

Awards: The plan is to recognize 1st-8th place finishers with medals during breaks between strokes within the sessions. Heat winners will receive ribbons.

Volunteers: GPSA will notify teams next week regarding their team's required volunteer positions.  Please plan on volunteering.

General:

• Concessions will be available in the pavilion outside the pool area.
• Heat sheets will be sold for $10.00 each.
• Lounge chairs will not be allowed on the pool deck for parents and spectators. Parents and spectators are encouraged to come and watch their swimmer(s) and then return to the team field. Only persons with disabilities requiring a chair may bring a chair into the pool area.
• There will be limited handicap parking in the pool parking lot. People parking in handicap spaces must have a valid handicap placard/decal. Cars may unload in designated parking areas only. Meets marshals directing traffic will be present and enforcing these rules. Park in designated areas only. (See attached.) Out of respect for the Coventry community, do not park in front of houses or driveways.
• Teams will be allocated space for tents.
• Spectators are permitted in designated areas only (see attached).

Team Area: will be assigned by GPSA

• we will need tarps for the ground and tents for shade
• a snack sign-up is posted on Swimtopia
• bring card games, books, art supplies, etc. (there's a lot of downtime)

Practice: City Meet Qualifiers begin practice tomorrow.  

8:00-8:45am for 10 and under swimmers

8:45-9:45 for 11 and up swimmers
